It is truly unfortunate that Saab Automobile was forced to file for bankruptcy protection on December 19th 2011. After many months of negotiation their efforts to reorganize has not come to pass. As a result of that filing Saab Cars North America has suspended any warranty reimbursements for Saab owners and its dealers.
While we aren't sure of the final outcome in the bankruptcy courts and if or when the warranty reimbursements will be reinstated, Jim Ellis plans to make sure that our Saab clients have access to warranty repairs. As of December 20, 2011, and until we receive further information from Saab Cars North America regarding this issue, we will honor warranty claims for our Jim Ellis clients as follows:
Any Saab owner currently whose vehicle is covered under the manufacturer's warranty coverage that was the original purchaser from either Jim Ellis Saab of Atlanta or Jim Ellis Saab of Marietta.
Any Saab owner currently whose vehicle is covered under the manufacturer's Certified Pre-Owned warranty that was purchased from either Jim Ellis Saab of Atlanta or Jim Ellis Saab of Marietta.
For Saab owners that have a vehicle under the manufacturer's warranty and did NOT purchase their vehicle from either Jim Ellis Saab of Atlanta or Jim Ellis Saab of Marietta, Jim Ellis will perform the requested warranty repairs under the warranty reimbursement guidelines however, the client will be asked to pay for the repairs and submit for reimbursement to the bankruptcy courts.
Again, it is regrettable that such a storied automotive brand has found itself at the brink, however you can rest assured that for over 40 years Jim Ellis has taken care of its loyal clients and we intend to do so now.
